What IS the Gold Coin Society?
The Gold Coin Society is an opportunity for new graduates to ceremoniously make their mark early on by supporting UWSP as they cross over from student life to become an official UW-Stevens Point alumnus.
How do you become a member?
There is only a small window of time available to become a member of the Gold Coin Society and graduation is that time. It’s a one dollar commitment. A one dollar commitment that the Chancellor is giving you, so you can feel what it is like to freely help those students who will follow in your footsteps.
Prior to the ceremony, every graduate walking through commencement will be presented a gold dollar coin. To join the Gold Coin Society, simply donate the gold coin to UWSP as you line up for the pomp and circumstance. If you are not participating in commencement, but you want to join the Gold Coin Society you can give right here, right now.
How do you stay a member?
You can only get in with a gift at graduation* and you remain a member as long as you make a gift every year. We aren’t going to tell you how much to give, when to give or what to support. That’s all up to you.
*As noted above, if you do not attend commencement ceremonies or choose to keep your coin, you can still join the Gold Coin Society by making your first gift within a month from the commencement date.*
