Day of Service: Treehaven

When is it?
Tuesday, May 2, 2017
10 -11 a.m.: Garden installation
11 a.m. – 12 p.m.: Choice of tree planting or honeysuckle removal
12 p.m.: Lunch provided by Treehaven
1 - 3 p.m.: Choice of helping finish the garden, planting trees or honeysuckle removal.

How will I be helping?
Show your school spirit by getting your hands dirty and helping out UWSP’s picturesque Northern campus! As volunteers, you will be helping install a new garden and remove trees.

How do I sign up?
RSVP to Scott Johnson at by April 2. Be sure to let us know which parts of the day you are attending and your t-shirt size!

Treehaven is located at W2540 Pickerel Creek Rd, Tomahawk, WI 54487
♦ We will provide lunch, a sapling and a t-shirt!

A Global Perspective on Building Sustainable Gardens and Food Systems May 2, 2017 Lesley Byrne is an international, humanitarian aid consultant in sustainable development for food and water security. For the past ten years, Lesley’s work has taken her all over the world, in very harsh conditions, with extensive on-going projects in Afghanistan, Jordan, Kenya and Cambodia. She teaches and trains farmers and widows in organic gardening, regenerative agriculture, agroforestry, with an emphasis on water harvesting, soil fertility and nutrition. Join Lesley on Tuesday, May 2 at 6 p.m. for a locally sourced dinner at Treehaven, followed by a presentation at 7:00 p.m. on her amazing projects throughout the world and also learn more about the UW-Stevens Point “Building Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems” graduate program she is currently enrolled in.
